MALE NPT THREADS REQUIRE WHITE OR YELLOW PTFE (TEFLON) PLUMBERS TAPE BEFORE ASSEMBLY.   YOU WILL GALL (BOND) THE THREADS WITHOUT IT.

When purchased for a side pickup, it will screw into  a 45 degree or 90 degree fitting installed on the inner side of the kettle or keg:

When purchased for a whirlpool use it with a 90 degree elbow.  Install the fitting low in the vessel.  A couple inches higher than the drain is optimal.

Bulkheads are available sold separately on the site here:

SPECS:  1/2" Outer diameter Stainless steel tubing.  316 Stainless 1/2" NPT x 1/2 Tube compression adapters.  Stainless steel ferrules.

Use with a 90 degree fitting for a whirlpool or a close side pickup

Use with a 45 to pickup further into the domed bottom

Or pickup from the side with a 45

Can also be used with a standard coupling option on the bulkhead to pull from near the center
