Comes with one silicone o-ring and one stainless steel 1 inch NPS locknut.
This is a straight thread fitting. It will allow you to tighten it hand tight and get a leak free connection. Nut has a groove for the o-ring to keep it seated when you tighten it down

Can be used in kegs and kettles and some thin wall coolers. You will need a 1.25" drill bit to install a water heater element.
